The Montaigne Medal from the Eric Hoffer Awards
Finalist: The 2021 Montaigne Medal
Each year, the Eric Hoffer Award presents the Montaigne Medal to the most thought-provoking books. These are books that either illuminate, progress, or redirect thought. The Montaigne Medal is given in honor of the great French philosopher Michel de Montaigne, who influenced people such as William Shakespeare, René Descartes, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Friedrich Nietzsche, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and Eric Hoffer.
Stevie® Award From American Business Awards
Winner: Stevie® Award for the Best Business Book of the Year
The Stevie® Awards are the world’s premier business awards. They were created in 2002 to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide. In short order the Stevie has become one of the world’s most coveted prizes. More than 3,600 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories. This award was on the 2020 Non-Obvious Megatrends edition.
The Axiom Business Book Award
Axiom Gold Medal: Business Theory
After winning the Silver Medal back in 2017 for an earlier version of the book, it was a huge honor to win the Gold this year for Non-Obvious Megatrends. The Axiom Business Book Awards are intended to bring increased recognition to exemplary business books and their creators. The awards were created in 2007, and have since become the largest and most respected critical guidepost for business books in today’s new world of publishing. These prestigious and competitive awards are presented in 22 business categories and serve as the premier list to help readers discover new and innovative works. This award was on the 2020 Non-Obvious Megatrends edition.
The Reader’s Favorite Book Award
Five Star Selection + Honorable Mention: Reader’s Favorite Book Award
The Reader’s Favorite award is an annual program that receives thousands of book entries which are judged and reviewed by actual readers. The competitive program announces winners across categories and in 2021 Non-Obvious Megatrends was selected for an Honorable Mention and earned a Five Star Review from reviewers in the category of Non-Fiction: Business/Finance.
The Media Ecology Association Book Award
Finalist: The Marshall McLuhan Award for Outstanding Book in the Field of Media Ecology
According to Media Ecology Association (MEA) founder Lance Strate, Media Ecology is the study of media environments, the idea that technology and techniques, modes of information and codes of communication play a leading role in human affairs. Every year the MEA awards one book in the field with the Marshall McLuhan Award. In 2021, the Megatrends edition of Non-Obvious was a finalist for the award.

Non-Obvious first won this award back in 2018 and was honored to be selected once again as the Gold Medal Winner for the Best Business Book of the Year for the Non-Obvious Megatrends Edition. The Next Generation Indie Book Awards is the largest Not-for-Profit book awards program for indie authors and independent publishers. In its twelfth year of operation, the Next Generation Indie Book Awards was established to recognize and honor the most exceptional independently published books in over 70 different categories.

The American Marketing Association’s Leonard L. Berry Book Prize
Finalist: Leonard L. Berry-AMA Book Prize
The Berry-AMA Book Prize for the Best Book in Marketing is sponsored by the American Marketing Association and recognizes books published in the past three years whose innovative ideas have had significant impact on marketing and related fields. Created by distinguished author and professor Leonard L. Berry and his wife Nancy F. Berry, the prize was awarded for the first time in Fall 2002. Books are selected by a panel of judges who are all leaders and experts in the field of marketing with careers as marketing academics, consultants, and practitioners. This award was on the 2018 Edition of Non-Obvious.
The Eric Hoffer Book Award
Winner: Eric Hoffer Business Book Of The Year
The Eric Hoffer Award honors the memory of the great American philosopher Eric Hoffer by highlighting salient writing, as well as the independent spirit of small publishers. Since its inception, the Hoffer has become one of the largest international book awards for small, academic, and independent presses. The Eric Hoffer Award each year published over the past two calendar years. This award was on the 2018 Edition of Non-Obvious.
Gary’s Book Club at the Consumer Electronics Show
Official Selection: Gary’s Book Club @ CES
Every year Gary’s Book Club selects notable books to be featured at the world’s largest tradeshow. Authors who have been previously selected for this club include Deepak Chopra, John Grisham and many others. Honorees are interviewed at the Consumer Technology Association Stage followed by a book signing. This award was on the 2017 Edition of Non-Obvious.

Conducted annually, the Independent Publisher Book Awards honor the year’s best independently published titles from around the world. The “IPPY” Awards have been operating since 1996, annually recognizing the year’s best independently published books from more than 5,500 submissions. IPPY judging is based on quality of content, originality, design, and production with an emphasis on innovation and social relevance. Our judging panel includes experts from the fields of editing, design, reviewing, bookselling and library. This award was on the 2018 Edition of Non-Obvious.

The awards program has been running for 10 years and accepts nominations from mainstream publishers like Penguin Random House, Simon and Schuster, and Disney Hyperion as well as from smaller Independent publishers like Ideapress. The Non-Fiction Book Award
Gold Medal: Non-Fiction Book Award
The Nonfiction Book Awards are sponsored by the Nonfiction Authors Association and were created to honor excellence in nonfiction books. The entries for this award are not judged against competing titles, but are reviewed by our judges based on a scoring system that evaluates the quality of the writing and production of the book (editing, design, and other details). A book can receive a bronze, silver or gold award based on the final evaluation score. Not all books that are submitted will receive a Nonfiction Book Award. This award was on the 2018 Edition of Non-Obvious.
The Pinnacle Book Achievement Award
Pinnacle Book Achievement – Best Business Book Award
This awards has been sponsored by the National Association of Book Entrepreneurs (NABE) for the past 32 years and honors books published by all types of publishing houses. Books are evaluated based on book content, quality, writing style, presentation and cover design. This award was on the 2018 Edition of Non-Obvious.
